DR (Digital Radiography)Radiography is a diagnostic technique using radiation to create images of a patient’s internal structures. Rather than traditional film, digital radiography utilizes a digital receptor to measure the amount of x-rays that pass through a patient. This information is then transported from the receptor to a computer where the image is generated and displayed on a monitor. One advantage of digital radiography is that it affords the veterinarian the opportunity to digitally process the characteristics of the image after it is captured. For instance, they are able to optimize the contrast, enhance image visibility, or zoom into the area of interest. Another advantage of digital radiography is that it allows the veterinarians at CVRC to more easily share radiographs with referring veterinarians via CDs or the internet. ![]() |
