Laparoscopic Surgery

Although commonly used in human medicine, laparoscopy is relatively new in veterinary medicine. During laparoscopy, a small camera and instruments are introduced into the abdomen (or chest) through very small incisions.

This technology allows the operator to visualize and biopsy organs (such as
liver, pancreas, and intestine) without the traditional larger incision.
Furthermore, other surgical procedures such as gastropexy, enterotomy,
pericardial windows, cryptorchidectomy and more can also be done via
laparoscopy. The main advantages of laparoscopy is that it is minimally
invasive, allowing a faster recovery time and less pain for the patient, in
addition to providing accurate imaging diagnostic ability.
