Dr. Jennifer Long, DVM
Growing up in New England, Dr. Jennifer Long moved to Portland in 1998, where she worked as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) at DoveLewis Emergency Animal Hospital before being accepted into Oregon State University's veterinary medicine program.
After graduating in 2007 with a focus on zoo and wildlife medicine, she had the opportunity to gain experience in Namibia with the Cheetah Conservation Fund and at the San Diego Zoo.
Dr. Long began her career as a veterinarian in a small animal general practice in Seattle before returning to Portland after marrying a Portland native. Over the past four to five years, she has worked as a relief veterinarian at several emergency hospitals throughout the greater Portland area before joining the CVRC team full-time in 2026.
Outside of work, Dr. Long enjoys travelling and exploring new destinations with her husband and Phasma, their three-year-old Pitsky. When at home, she enjoys transforming her backyard into an urban oasis under the watchful eye of Stormy, their cat and self-appointed house manager, affectionately known as "Baby Urban Panther." She also has 4 chickens named after the Golden Girls.
