Dr. Emily Scavuzzo
Dr. Emily Scavuzzo received her veterinary degree from Purdue University in 2016. She also holds a B.S. in Marketing from Butler University. An Indiana native, Dr. Scavuzzo had a particular interest in emergency medicine during vet school and completed an ECC internship at DoveLewis after graduation. After her internship, she spent a year working relief at several specialty and emergency hospitals in the Portland area, then worked in Bend for the last three years. She has chosen to continue her career at Cascade Veterinary Referral Center and joined as an ER/ICU doctor in May of 2020. Her special interests include trauma, toxins, and emergency surgeries. Although Dr. Scavuzzo works exclusively in emergency medicine, she volunteers with shelters and rescues as much as possible.
Dr. Scavuzzo has two cats of her own, Westley and Mae, the best dog in the world, Bowser, and a precocious puppy, Yoshi. She enjoys sand volleyball, reading, hiking, and travel. Her love of globetrotting has taken her to Costa Rica for study and South America, Europe, Iceland, and Africa for adventure. During her free time, you can find her out hiking with her dogs in an endless quest for the forest road less traveled.
